Bad news: A major vulnerability has been disclosed for the technology that powers encryption across the majority of the internet. That includes Tumblr. Our team took immediate action to fix the issue, but you should still take some time to change your password, not only here but on any other sites you visit.
You should also strongly consider enabling two-factor authentication. It’ll go a long way to ensure that no one besides you can access your account. Thanks, and take care.
Sometimes I swear the reason I hate marking so much is that even with software like Turn It In, I still have multiple students plagiarize on EVERY SINGLE TASK I set.
So I spend my time marking
… then spend my time finding proof that they’ve cheated
…then spend my time contacting Heads of Learning Area/Curriculum
… then spend my time filling out paperwork
…then spend my time confronting them
… them spend my time listening to their sob stories
… then spend my time getting yelled at by parents who are angry that I’d accuse their darling angels of doing the wrong thing
…then spend my time organizing detention or a re-submission or whatever the higher-ups decide
…then, completely demoralized, go back to my unfinished pile of marking and try not to cry my way through the rest.
And yet in all of this, I don’t spend any time actually helping these kids improve their skills, because instead of asking for extra help, they put in less effort and I spend more time dealing with the lie than treating the actual problem.
Come on teachers, please tell me there’s a quick and easy solution to this? Because if I don’t find one quick it’s all in-class essays from here on in.
